Gran Canaria, 2018

Hi guys! Hope, you’ve had a wonderful New Year’s Eve with your loved ones! I’m so happy that I’ve made it to New Year since last 2 days of 2018 were insane with tonnes of unfinished things to do! It’s been a while, and I’m finally getting around to writing my next post.

So what actually happened is that one of our family friends were planning to spend Christmas and New Year’s Eve in a different country and wanted us to join them. It was an appealing idea since we have never traveled together with another family before! And it would be more fun for our angel to have a little friend to play with throughout the journey:)) So we agreed on traveling to the 3rd largest of the Canary Islands – Gran Canaria!

To skip all those annoying process of picking right flights and family-friendly hotels that would suit kids’ needs as well, we took advantage of TUI, a German travel and tourism company. I think, it has good services, and offers travels to more than 180 destinations according to your needs.

We chose to stay at Hotel Orquidea Bahia Feliz. It’s a beautiful exotic hotel with a separate pool for kids. The hotel also has playgrounds, and a kids club, but we didn’t use the club service since we were outside the hotel most of the time. The only thing I didn’t like about the hotel is the bed. We had twin beds on wheels (strange for me), so when you move abruptly, they slide apart.

First two days of our trip we spent in the hotel resting and enjoying things the hotel offers. Then we decided to rent a minivan to explore most places of the Island, we thought, but it turned out to be a bit tough with the kids to make it. My daughter got high fever next night since she was swimming in the pool when it was a bit cold. So we did our best to visit as many places as we could.

I won’t be describing each place we’ve been at in detail, but will just be attaching some photos. Hope you like them!

Hotel Orquidea Bahia Feliz

Angry Birds Activity Park, Peurto Rico

Puerto Rico streets

Dunes of Maspalomas

Palmitos Park (the Zoo isn’t as big as I expected, but the landscape is stunning)

Stunning Playa de Amadores Beach

Wandering around Mogan

The Underwater Adventure

After the submarine adventures they handed out certificates to all the children.

Honestly, it was my first travel around New Year’s holiday season. To say that I got so much joy from this short winter escape is to say nothing! Best New Year gift so far! Happy beginning of 2019 to all of you!
